Directions to Turkey Flats:

Take Santa Margarita to Pozo Road.  Follow Pozo Road past the Pozo Saloon (point B on the map above).  Continue on Pozo Road to Parkhill Road. Without turning, you will be on Parkhill Road.  It can be confusing because the intersection of Pozo Road and Parkhill Road is not well marked.  Pozo Road actually splits off to the Right -- DON'T GO THAT WAY.  Just continue on up to Black Mountain Road (aka ForstRoute 29S02).  This will take you to Turkey Flats (point A on the map above).

I would like to take this opportunity to say a heart felt thank you for all your prayers, encouragement, thoughts and donations.  This has been a difficult time for our family and the out pouring of support from the industry has been amazing.  We would like to invite you to the Celebration of Life to honor Nathan.  He was an amazing athlete, but more importantly he was a truly remarkable husband, father, and friend.   Please join us in his celebration.

 Sincerely,

Amanda Woods

While practicing for the Taft WORCS race on January 28, 2011, Nathan Woods was fatally injured.  He leaves behind family, friends and fans.  Our hearts go out to Nathan's wife, Amanda, and his two sons, Braxton and Nate.

Nathan's accomplishments include the most WORCS wins of any one person, two WORCS championships, a participant on the US World Trophy Team in the ISDE in 2009 and 2010, earnng a gold medal in 2010, multi-time winner of the Oceano Dunes Beach Race, and our own King of Pozo on several occasions.  Last Sunday at our annual "Hangover Ride" he was awarded the CCMA Rider of the Year.  Our local hero will be greatly missed by all.

All,

As you may have imagined the financial impact of Nathan's passing on his wife Amanda and their children Nate and Braxton is enormous.  We learned yesterday afternoon that a Nathan Woods Memorial account has been set up at Rabobank.  Magazines, businesses and others involved in the sport are making a big effort to encourage contributions to this fund.

If you are interested in contributing to this fund you may make a check payable to "Nathan Woods Memorial" and mail it to the CCMA at; P.O. Box 4942, San Luis Obispo, CA 93403.  We will deposit the check into the Rabobank account.  Or, if you see a memorial fund link on another website you can use that method as well.  If technology permits, the CCMA may be setting up a link on its website today or tomorrow.

Thank you all.

We will race this season with heavy hearts, but knowing that Nathan will be with us, as demonstrated by Kevin’s amazing 6th overall finish yesterday despite the circumstances,”
